Mount Lebanon School
238 Students (Y15-16)
We provide consistency in educational programming for students in two PreK-4 schools. Both buildings strive to be friendly and welcoming to students and their families. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in academic skills and knowledge, supplemented by many enrichment experiences. The staff gives individual attention to students to prepare them for entry to Lebanon Middle School. Both single grade and team-taught approaches are strategies for grades K-5.
Specialists provide weekly instruction in art, music, and physical education. Librarians and library assistants introduce students to new literature and teach them how to locate and use information. School counselors meet with classes and small groups to develop social and problem solving skills and understanding of growth and development. All students learn to use the computer to access, organize, and report information as well as a tool for writing.
Special programs and activities include: Reading, ELL support, Artists in the Schools, Hood Museum ArtStart and Images Programs, Spelling and Geography Bees, Four Winds Science, Talent Shows, Valley Quest, Partners in Health, service learning, assemblies/school sings, field trips, and guest speakers. Thousands of volunteer hours in and for our elementary schools are offered by our parents and friends each year.
