Assessment Systems

ACCESS 2.0 is New Hampshire's language proficiency assessment for Kindergarten - Grade 12 students that are identified as English learners (ELs). Federal law requires that all EL students who qualify for English language proficiency services participate in the ACCESS 2.0 annually until the student achieves the exit criteria set by the State

NWEA - Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments in reading and mathematics are given to all students in grades K through 8. NWEA Assessments are designed to inform instructional programming and provide ways to measure student growth in the areas of reading and mathematics.

At the elementary and middle school levels, multiple assessment systems are used to monitor student learning. In compliance with New Hampshire state law (RSA 200:58, RSA 200:59, and ED 306 rules), all students in grades K–3 are screened annually to identify risk factors for dyslexia and reading difficulties. These screenings are conducted using the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) via the Amplify mClass platform. Additional screenings in mathematics and English/Language Arts are carried out with the Renaissance STAR assessment tools. Both screenings and progress-monitoring assessments occur at scheduled intervals throughout the school year.
