Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

What is an FSA/DCA?

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Dependent Care Accounts (DCA) allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible expenses, helping you save money by reducing your taxable income.

An FSA can be used for qualified medical expenses like copays, prescriptions, dental care, and vision costs.
A DCA can be used for dependent care expenses such as daycare, preschool, or after-school programs for children under age 13.

Both accounts are optional benefits available to eligible employees and can make a meaningful difference in managing out-of-pocket costs throughout the year.

STEP 2

OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH YOUR SELECTED INVESTMENT PROVIDER
Contact your selected investment provider and establish an account.
You must open an account with an investment provider before moving to Step 3.

STEP 3

COMPLETE AND SUBMIT A SALARY REDUCTION AGREEMENT
Choose the amount you want to contribute each pay period, and fill out the online Salary Reduction Agreement available online.

What is NHRS?

The New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS) is a pension plan for eligible public employees, including teachers, school administrators, and other school staff.

It provides lifetime retirement, disability, and death benefits based on your salary and years of service — not on market performance.

Eligible employees are automatically enrolled and contribute a portion of each paycheck to the plan. The district also contributes on your behalf.
